Addiction or alcoholism has a two-fold nature, physical and psychological dependency. The physical nature is usually treated in a detoxification facility where very little psychological treatment is administered. Usually patients are physically “sick” from withdrawal symptoms and are unable or less tolerant of participating in intense therapy. Ambrosia works with many detox facilities to provide the psychological part of treatment, after a patient has been detoxed.

Psychological Dependency

Ambrosia Treatment Center teaches the client new methods of interacting in a drug-free environment. Our program encourages the addicted person to not only stop using drugs and alcohol, but to examine and change these self destructive behavior patterns. We at Ambrosia understand that “recovery” is a process, not an event.

We believe that addiction is a three-fold disease, physical, psychological, and spiritual. All three parts of the addicted person need to be treated in order for total sobriety to be achieved.
